Charles Hill (aka Chuck)

Executive Director

Charles joined Camp Chaparral in January of 2012 as our Executive Director. Prior to joining us he served as the Executive Director of Green Country Camp in Disney, OK. Charles also served as a Minister of Students for over 15 years and has 25 years of combined ministry experience as of 2017. Charles has additionally helped establish two different Youth Camps in the cities of Moa and Camaguey, Cuba; he has served as the Director for the Greater Houston Camp Association (Youth Camp) and serves as a permanent member of the Board of Directors for Press On Missions. Charles’ passion for camp ministry stems from his own personal experiences along with an understanding of the impact that camp ministry has on the local church. His goal is to enable a camp facility to make an eternal difference in the lives of all who participate. Charles believes that through a bold camp ministry plan we can help strengthen each individual’s calling to serve Christ in the local church and around the world. Charles received a Bachelor of Science in Business from East Texas Baptist University (‘96) and a Master of Arts in Religious Education from SWBTS (‘98). Charles is married to Amy Hill ( and has two beautiful daughters, Kayleigh (16 years old) and Rylie (9 years old).

Heather Cooper

Business Administrator

Heather joined Camp Chaparral on February 15th, 2005. She celebrates 20 years of marriage with Ken Cooper and has one son, Matthew, who is the loudest and proudest member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2020! Heather is a member of Faith Baptist Church in Iowa Park. Before coming to the Camp, she worked as a Book Store Manager and Financial Aid Advisor for Wayland Baptist University’s Sheppard AFB campus. She has also worked in the Human Resource department for Sears in Wichita Falls. When asked what she likes about her job, she stated, “I love serving in an environment where lives are changed. At the end of the day, everything that we have done goes back to helping people find their way to Jesus. This isn’t a job, it’s a ministry. Who wouldn’t love being able to work in a place like this?”

Doug Gaskey

Operations & Guest Services Director

Doug originally joined Chaparral as the Director of Food Service in February of 2003.  Prior to joining our team, Doug was the General Manager of El Chico Café in Wichita Falls, Texas. The Lord then called Doug to Pastor Grace Temple Baptist Church in Henrietta, Texas in September of 2008, where he still serves today. Doug continued to provide support for our larger events as well as serving on the Board of Directors for the camp.  In October of 2015, the Lord called Doug back to Chaparral as our Guest Relations and Food Services Director.  We are so fortunate to have Doug back on our team.  He brings with him over 25 years of ministry and food service experience, giving him the ability to feed our guest physically as well as spiritually. Doug Holds degrees in Business Administration and Christian Ministry from Wayland Baptist University as well as a Masters of Biblical Counseling from Light University and is a Certified Biblical Councilor.  Doug believes that his greatest accomplishment is his marriage to the Love of His Life Ginnie and raising their five children over the last 26 years. Brandie (husband Devin), Justin, Amber (husband Shawn), Melinda (husband Brandon), and Greg. They are blessed with four grandchildren: Elijah, Jonathan, Joshua, and Hannah and one heaven grandbaby Titus. Doug’s life verse for his ministry at Chaparral is I Corinthians 10:31 - Therefore, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Nathan McDonald

Facilities & Activities Director

Nathan (or Nate), joined the camp staff in April, 2016. Nathan previously worked at the Camp from 2003-2008, serving as the Ropes Course Coordinator. After leaving the Camp to work in the Commercial Insurance world for 6+ years, the Lord called Nathan back to the Camp to serve as Facilities & Activities Director. The Camp holds a special place in Nathan's heart, as he accepted Christ at the Camp during RA camp in the summer of 1988. Nathan loves the Camp Ministry and the impact it can have on people's lives. Nathan knows he would not be where he is today without the love, grace, and mercy of his Heavenly Father. Nathan has also been blessed with a wonderful, Godly family and has had many Godly mentors in his life who have helped shape him into the man he is today. Nathan is a life long Wichitan, and he attended Wichita Falls High School and Midwestern State University. In his free time Nathan enjoys playing golf, watching and playing America's favorite pastime, baseball, and cheering on The University of Texas Longhorns. Nathan is an ordained deacon and is a member of First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls. Nathan is still waiting for the Lord to send him Miss. Right, but during the mean time he is enjoying his time being single.
